Frankincense is used as an incense in many churches and for religious ceremonies (there are more than 50 references in the Bible!). It was used thousands of years ago by the ancient Egyptians in embalming mixtures as well as during the middle ages to cover up the malodorous scent during funerals. This holy resin has had value in the past equivalent to gold and was even used to anoint kings.
